Her story is a testament to the extraordinary love and grace of God, offering solace and inspiration to those who, like Susan, have grappled with their own sense of incompleteness.
Hi, I’m Susan, and I’m genuinely grateful for your visit. If you find yourself here, I believe it’s not by chance but a divine calling into a deeper relationship with God. Allow me to share my journey and the vision behind Ishi’s Brides.
In 2001, I established a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to supporting underserved families in the tri-state areas. This experience deepened my understanding of the powerful connection between faith and an intimate relationship with Christ.
In 2012, I founded the Tyler Group, a boutique organizational development consultancy. Holding a Master’s in Organization Development (MSOD), I’m a Certified Church Consultant and currently pursuing an Ed. D. in Ministry Leadership. Over two decades, I’ve collaborated with leaders from diverse sectors—corporate, nonprofit, small business, and faith-based—nurturing their growth through organizational change, leadership, and development initiatives. I am also the Director of Organizational Development and Logistics working full-time at an industry-leading manufacturing company.
My journey into self-employment was a faith-based testimony. I courageously left a lucrative yet unfulfilling corporate job, driven by my conviction that I had heard God’s voice. My passion now lies in helping women embrace their identity as the Bride of Christ and discovering, nurturing, and utilizing their God-given talents for His Kingdom.
At one point, I felt incomplete, despite the appearance of having it all together. Lingering childhood wounds from father abandonment had a profound impact on my life. I believed I needed a man to fill the void, leading to three marriages, two of which were short-lived and should never have happened.
Following the last failed marriage, I cried out to God, questioning why I had made these mistakes. His response led me to Hosea 2, a passage that would transform my life. It revealed His deep love and desire for me, culminating in the beautiful promise: “And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.” (Hosea 2:16 KJV). All other Biblical translations substitute Ishi with Husband as follows:
“She doesn’t realize it was I who gave her everything she has the grain, the new wine, the olive oil; I even gave her silver and gold”..……I will punish her for all those times when she burned incense to her images of Baal, when she put on her earrings and jewels and went out to look for her lovers but forgot all about me,” says the LORD. “But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there. I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. When that day comes,” says the LORD, you will call me ‘my husband’ instead of ‘my master.” (Hosea 2: 8; 13-16 NLT)
This encounter overwhelmed me with a profound mix of emotions—shock at God’s clarity, a deep sense of being cherished, and regret for not realizing sooner that I was complete in my singleness, my ultimate fulfillment found in God’s love alone. And led to a desire to coach other women into embracing their identity as Ishi’s Bride.
